The Adagio from Haydn’s Symphony no. 24 is speculated to have been the middle movement of a flute concerto, now lost. Although many of Haydn’s earlier symphonies included elaborate instrumental solos, this movement includes a cadence point at the end requiring a cadenza (included in this arrangement).
